Our Projects

We build solar-powered, deep-sourced freshwater wells to provide clean, safe drinking water to impoverished communities in Uganda. We focus on remote communities with no access to clean water. Since our wells are solar-powered and made with durable components, the community can enjoy the water without needing to pay for electricity or costly maintenance.

How we drill a well

Even though we generally drill through soil, the drill head needs to be extremely tough and reliable to drill all the way down.
After the well has been drilled down deep enough to safely draw uncontaminated water, a sheeting is lowered down to further protect the water inlet. Long pipes are then lowered down to bring the water up to the surface.
All of the systems we install are solar powered. This means that the pumps work without the village members needing to pay for electricity, and that the pump system is ecologically friendly.
Water is pumped into a tall tower during the day, to provide water pressure to the village throughout both day and night.
We work with local contractors to drill the wells, The drilling truck may often have to drive long distances and traverse difficult roads to reach the village.
Drilling the hole often takes a long time and a full team of people. The community we are working with helps choose a site that will effectively provide water for all community members
We work with a manufacturer in <—–> who provides durable pumps. These pumps are more durable than most other pumps on the market, ensuring that the systems we install will work for many years without needing maintenance.
Once the pump is installed, the hole is cleaned and sealed to prevent any possible contamination.
This village may still face many challenges, but at least access to fresh water is no longer an overwhelming problem. We believe that with this first step

Project Locations

As one of several organization working to provide clean water in Uganda, we do our best to serve those communities that need our assistance the most. We primarily focus on drilling wells in the south of Uganda, a region that receives far less assistance from most NGO’s. All the locations we have drilled wells so far are shown on the map above!

Project Costs

We take care to ensure that the money we raise through donations is spent effectively to help those in need of clean water. We partner with a local contractor, Living Water Technologies, who provides the drilling hardware and installation support. Any members of our organization who travel to help with the drilling efforts are asked to pay for the costs of their stay. Since a large portion of the cost of a well is the cost of transporting the required hardware to a remote location, we plan and drill multiple wells in nearby villages at once.

Despite our efforts, the full cost of installing a clean water pumping system is still substantial. A single well cost in 2023 on average just under $14,000. A cost like this is far too great a sum for an impoverished community to gather, which is why we ask for donations.
